The Christian faith is from the beginning sacrifice, sacrifice of all freedom, all pride, and all self-conscience of the spirit, at the same time enslavement and self-mockery. It is such men, who, with their ‘equal before God’, have hitherto ruled over the destiny of Europe, until at last shrunken, almost ludicrous, species, a herd animal, something full of goodwill (and hate?), sickly mediocre has been bred, the European of today... One should not go into churches if one wants to breathe pure air. Ignorance is a way to enjoy inconceivable freedom. Good man; one that lets himself robed, humiliated, and exploited. Not that you lied to me but that I no longer believe you – that is what distressed me. Moralists hate the jungle, and hate the jungle man therefore.
