If one will not, another will.
If one will not, another will.

Understand the thought
Meaning in plain English
A task or opportunity may attract someone else when one person declines. The saying recognises differing willingness without erasing a person’s right to refuse.
What the words are saying
One refusal is followed by another possible participant. This can encourage a group to seek an appropriate volunteer instead of assuming everyone must want the same role. It should not become a threat of replacement used to force consent or dismiss a concern. A careful reading checks what the role requires and whether another person freely accepts it on fair terms.
Everyday example
An organiser asks for another willing helper after someone declines an optional task without pressuring the person who said no.
When to use it
Use it to recognise freely chosen alternatives in participation.
What it does not mean
Possible replacement does not justify coercion or unfair conditions.
